Attack From Mars   -   Clintonville Coin Laundry, 3/.50   -   Four Stars

Not to be confused with its inferior sequel Revenge From Mars; this is a classic table.  With its wiggling aliens, multitude of 1-2-3 ramp missions, and large central gizmo, it’s a clear step between the pleasant Elvira and the Party Monsters and the brilliant Medieval Madness.  What sells this game, and what made it so innovative at the time, is the perfect play balance.  It’s not too hard for an amateur to have some fun bouncing the ball around, but completing all its objectives before running out of balls requires a substantial level of practice.  In this sense it foresages not only Medieval Madness but also Theatre of Magic and many other great tables with very complex rule sets.  Plus, you get some fabulously squishy Martian groans and roars!
