The Invisible Man, by H. G. Wells
published 1897 - read 2004

A generally enjoyable short read.  The various chase/fight scenes feel a bit repetitive after a while, and the explanation of the Invisible Man's invisibility comes a bit too late in the game for my tastes, but mostly it works.  The basic idea is that a guy has managed to turn himself invisible, and it's made him into a bitter recluse with increasingly sociopathic tendencies.  Predictable but entertaining.
