With this unbelievably late update, we see the end of an era.  Several eras, in fact.  For one, I'm just about to head off to the University of Georgia for my freshman year.  Partially because of this, I'm taking a long hard look at all high-maintanence parts of Umma - this site included.  If the past couple of months had been as bad as the past six, overall, I'd probably close the site right here.   But I've gotten some nice responses and some great art, so apparently some people still care. 

So what is to be the fate of AHAB/AHBM?  I'm not sure.  When all's said and done, I'll probably just update really late as I've always done.  Only now, it's part of the plan, so I won't apologize for it.  Will this approach fly with the public?   Only you can decide, being the public and all.

Anyway.  Setting all these future-minded remarks aside, let's get our hands on what's actually new over here.

You gotta love fanart. Well, at least you have to try. There's just so much good stuff out there! It's rather often that I'll be rummaging around some random amateur site and find a pic that I've just got to save to my HD for posterity. And there's no place better for such things than the anime character monthly pages. After looking through most of the ones linked at the Anime Artist HQ's Monthly Jumpstation, I got rather inspired to try starting up my own. Of course, this means lots of PR and getting the word out and whatnot, but I was just dying to use this extremist yellow-on-teal design!

The concept, in a nutshell:

1. I pick a hunk and a babe each month, either on my own or with the help of suggestions from you, the reader.
2. I put existing images of the Hunk & Babe up on the Current Hunk & Babe page, along with my notes on the characters.
3. You (the reader, I reiterate) get supremely inspired, sit down and put together your own little masterpieces focusing on the hunk and/or the babe.
4. You then go through whatever means necessary to send me your creations; I upload them as soon as possible, add links for the image, your email address, and webpage (where applicable), and voila.
5. You are a star.
6. At the beginning of the next month (or thereabouts) I move the Hunk & Babe of the previous month, along with all your lovely artwork, to the Past Hunks & Babes page for the world to look over long after we're gone. I also stop accepting (reluctantly) art for the previous month.
7. Repeat steps 2-6 indefinitely.

All fan-artwork on these pages is the copyrighted property of the original artist unless otherwise noted (or unless they don't tell me something). I just sort of have it on loan from them with the understanding that I'm not going to do anything with it except what's specified above.
