FYRidicule's Survivor Strategy Page Hi there. I'm Addison Godel, better known in the Survivor speculation subculture as FYRidicule. That nickname was not chosen entirely on whim: it stands (in my mind) for "For Your Ridicule," and a more appropriate label cannot be found for speculations on Survivor gameplay and strategy. All theories are cast out into the electronic fray to be critiqued, improved upon, and occasionally torn to shreds. That's half the fun of the discourse and I wouldn't want it any other way. This page is my attempt to make a permanent home for some of the (admittedly rather geeky) projects I've taken on over the years with regards to the Survivor series, which I regard as the greatest television show ever made. And if you get tired of this site, be sure to head over to the Speculation forum at the SurvivorSucks boards, where it all began, and still goes on, day by day. |

Grading The Survivors Always a favorite topic in the off-season on the speculation boards. Sadly, for reasons of online brevity or a humanitarian impulse to avoid spamming the boards, most people refrain from giving a rationale for their grades. My eyes tend to glaze over when looking at simple long lists of names and numbers, so here's something a little different: player-by-player grades, with a few sentences each explaining my choice. Of course, despite the bandwidth wasted, the grades are still somewhat inconsistent and naturally reflect no objective criteria (as if such things exist for a game like this). My choices are, I think, an even mix of conventional wisdom, common choices on controversial topics, and the occasional really weird, uncommon choice. Strategy Discussions My favorite aspect of Survivor discussion, really, is gameplay and strategy speculation. This section will eventually contain a number of short articles/essays/rants by yours truly (and maybe some guest articles?) outlining various theories on specific and general aspects of Survivor gameplay.
