Screamer
The beast who, after some six years' time, could be said to have started it all. Compact, sturdily built, and unspeakably ugly, this particular monster follows the recommendations of The Simple Screamer quite closely. I like his color-scheme a lot - very swampy, very icky. Sadly, time and my sloppiness back in '94 (or whenever) have left the Screamer with a number of noticeable physical flaws - big gaps in the skin, paint errors, etc. These are thankfully imperceptible in most photos of the beast, but they still bug me.
When I disinterred Screamer from my closet in Atlanta and moved him up to my dorm room, it was really only a matter of time before I started building another one, a tale which is told over at the Monster page. Suffice to say that I was eager to avoid the mistakes of the first project, and also to push the boundaries of the medium a bit more, getting away from the slavish obedience to direction seen in this project. Also, I no longer had the book to read directions out of.
For the record, the Screamer has for several years held a place over at my neglected Artifacts page, and is a candidate for consideration as one of the 100 Nightmares From Afar. And now, a few more pictures:
